Project: Reeler Live
Role: UX/UI Consultant
Duration: Sep 2020 - Jul 2021
Reeler is an innovative live streaming app designed to enhance the viewing experience at live events by providing users with a dynamic, multi-camera perspective. The app aims to revolutionize the way people attend events, offering them an opportunity to be in control of their viewing experience through the use of multiple cameras positioned strategically around the venue. By offering different vantage points, Reeler allows users to create their unique, immersive experience, tailored to their preferences.
The Big Challenges
1- Simplifying Navigation and User Flow: One of the main UX challenges we faced during the development of the Reeler app was designing a straightforward and intuitive navigation system. With multiple camera angles, real-time updates, and social media integration, we needed to ensure that users could easily access and interact with the app's features without feeling overwhelmed or confused.
2- Accommodating Diverse User Preferences: Catering to the diverse preferences of our target audience was another challenge. With users seeking different experiences based on their interests and the type of event they were attending, we had to create a flexible and adaptable interface that could meet various needs while maintaining a cohesive design.
3- Ensuring Seamless Camera Switching: A significant UX challenge was providing users with the ability to switch between multiple camera angles smoothly and with minimal latency. We had to design a user interface that facilitated this process while maintaining an engaging visual experience, ensuring users did not miss any critical moments during the event.
4- Balancing Aesthetics and Functionality: Striking the right balance between aesthetics and functionality was a key UI challenge. We aimed to create a visually appealing app that resonated with our target audience while not compromising on usability and the user experience. This required careful consideration of design elements such as color schemes, typography, and iconography, ensuring they aligned with the app's objectives and user expectations.
